The game

Last Thaw started with one question: what if a zombie survival game made the cold as dangerous as the dead? Soaked clothes in a blizzard, a fire that won't light, a car with no battery and a horde coming over the hill. It is a low-poly, hardcore survival game about getting through one more night: scavenge, build a base that holds, hunt, drive, and read your body instead of a health bar.

It is in Early Access and gets updated constantly. The roadmap is on the Steam page, and the people playing it shape what comes next.

Who makes it

TAH Games is one person. I'm a game designer at heart: I come up with the systems, the world, the towns and their stories, the balance, the feel of the driving and the fights, and every call about how the game plays. I play every build myself and I read every bug report and suggestion.

What I'm not is a 3D modeller or a career programmer. Rather than let that stop the game from existing, I build it with modern tools, the way small studios increasingly do.

How AI tools are used

I want to be upfront about this, because players deserve to know how a game is made.

The ideas, the design, the direction and the responsibility are mine. If something is broken or boring, that is on me, and I want to hear about it.
